Slip stitch with photo tutorial. Slip stitch (Sl st) is a very short stitch used mainly to joint. This stitch is used in the closing of a ring or motif round. Slip stitch is also good for seaming of two finished pieces like Granny squares.
This stitch is not used to produce fabric but it is very useful to work along an edge to strengthen and to minimize stretching of the fabric.
Let us see how to make Slip Stitch-
Insert hook in chain (or stitch) and catch the yarn like shown below-
then draw a loop through both the chain and the loop on the hook.
