Flower Pattern with 3 Double-crochet-together tutorial with step by step photos, instruction card and video tutorial. Generally double crochet together (dc3tog) is used to reduce the stitch but in today’s post we will learn how to make a beautiful pattern with it.
This pattern needs little bit of practice in crochet so I would say this pattern is not for beginners but for the intermediate crocheters. This flower pattern stands out with a ridge at the bottom of flowers.
This flower pattern with double crochet together goes very well for afghan or cowl.

Abbreviations used:
dc3tog – double crochet 3 together
Pattern Grading:
You can increase or decrease number chains at start to get desired size of your project but keep total number of chains to multiples of 3 + 1 ch.
Material:
3.5 mm crochet hook (or hook suitable for your yarn)
Description:
Make chain, for sample I have taken 28 ch (remember total chains should be multiples of 3+1).
R1: Insert hook in 4th ch and make 1 dc in each ch (26 sts). Turn the work.
R2: Ch 3, 1 dc each in next 2 sts, *ch 1, sk 1, 1 dc* repeat * * 9 times, 2 dc in last 2 sts (10 chain spaces). Turn the work.
R3: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st (26 sts). Turn the work.
Note: Next row should be worked only in the back loop.
Flower Row (Right side) R4: (Ch 3, 1 dc each in next 2 sts, ch 1, sk 1)- I have made this to make border and this can vary for other projects.
Pattern begins here: dc3tog, *1 little loose ch, ch 3, {yo insert hook in loose ch, draw up a loop, yo, draw through only first 2 loops}-this is called unfinished double crochet (undc), 1undc in same loose ch one more time – now we have 3 loops on hook, keep them on the hook, 1 undc in next 3 hdc each- now we have 6 loops on hook, draw up a yarn through all 6 loops*. This will form one horizontal and one vertical petal of the flower.
Repeat * * until last but 4 sts, ch 1, sk 1, 1dc each in next 3 sts. Turn the work.
You will see 5 horizontal & 6 vertical petals.
Flower Row (Wrong side) R5: Ch 3, 1 dc each in next 2 sts, ch 1, *3 dc in same loose ch made in R4*, repeat * * 5 times, ch 1, 1 dc each in next 3 sts. Turn the work.
This completes one pattern.
Start again from R2 to repeat the pattern.
