My angel is fond of accessories. She loves this headband and wears it to school or sometimes at home also :-). I love to see her in accessories that I have made for her.
This headband is very easy and quick to do but looks very beautiful, so perfect for a gift. Lets see how to make it…
How to make Crochet Floral Headband for Baby-

Detailed Step by step tutorial with photos-
Abbreviations used:
Gauge:
6 dc = 1″ or 2.5 cm
3 dc rows = 1″ or 2.5 cm
Note:
- Lay your chain out flat, but not stretched to measure it. Once you start crocheting, the chain will tighten up a bit, resulting in a slightly smaller circumference.

Finished Size :
Headband diameter – 50 cm
Note: It is always advisable to take baby’s head measurement for whom you are making the headband. If you are making it as a gift for someone or to sell on your store then grab this standard chart from our resource library.
Pattern Grading:
If you want reduce or increase the size of finished headband then follow these instructions-
- Increase or decrease number chains at the start to get desired band size but keep total number of chains to multiples of 6.
Material:
Description:
White headband-
Start with white color yarn.
Make chain 90, insert hook in first chain and make slip stitch. This forms a circle of 90 chains.
R1: Ch 1, *sk ch 2, 3 dc in 3rd ch, ch 3 & Sl st in 3rd dc st, 2 dc in same 3rd ch (where 3 dc were made) , sk ch 2, 1 sc in next ch* repeat * to * 14 times (total 15 number of scalloped patterns), Sl st in first ch.
R2: Start working on other side of the chain so that the scalloped pattern is facing down. Ch 3, 1 dc in each ch, Sl st in ch (90 sts).
R3: Ch 3, 1 dc in next 2 sts each, ch 1, sk 1, *1 dc in next 5 sts each, ch 1, sk 1* repeat * to * 13 times, 2 dc in last 2 sts, Sl st in ch (total 15 number of chain space between 5 dc).
Note: Each chain space should come inline with the center of each scallop in R 1.
R4: Ch 3, 1 dc in each st, Sl st in ch (90 sts).
R5: repeat R1. Cut the yarn and sew in the end.
This completes white band.

Green leaves band-
Start with green color yarn.
Leaf Pattern: Ch 3, 1 dc in 1st ch, ch 3 & Sl st in dc st, ch 3, Sl st in 1st ch,
Make 3 leaves, ch 13, *make 1 leaf in last ch then flip the leaf and make another leaf in same ch, ch 6*
Start inserting this green band in white while working. Watch video to see how to insert this green band. Repeat * to * insert in white band, similarly repeat till end of the band.
Make ch 13, and then make 3 leaves in last ch.
Cut the yarn and sew in the end.
Pink Flower-
Start with pink color yarn.
Make ch 5, Sl st in first ch thus forming a loop of 5 chs. This loop is the center of our flower.
R1: Ch 5, 1 sc in loop made above, *ch 4, 1 sc in loop*, repeat * to * 3 times. ( total 5 petals)
R2: Ch 5, 1 sc in between 1st petal of R1, *ch 4, 1 sc in between next petal of R1*, repeat * to * 3 times. ( total 5 loops)
R3: *1 sc, 2 dc, 1 sc* in each loop of R2.
R4: Ch 6, insert hook under the first petal of R3 and make 1 sc in between 1st petal of R1. *ch 5, 1 sc in between next petal of R1*, repeat * to * 3 times. ( total 5 loops)
R5: *1 sc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 sc* in each loop of R4.
R6: Ch 6, insert hook under 1st petal of R5 and in between 2 dc in R3 and make 1 sc, *ch 5, 1 sc in between 2 dc in R3*, repeat * to * 3 times. ( total 5 loops)
R7: *1 sc, 1 dc, 2 tr, 1 dc, 1 sc* in each loop of R6.
Sew and fix one decorative button in center of the flower. Now sew and attach the flower to the white band where the green leaves band’s ends have come out.
