Today I am going to share a homemade massage oil which is very simple to make yet quite effective for all kinds of muscle pains and to keep cold away.
This is a traditional method which I learnt after my angel’s birth. My hubby’s grand mother shared this with me and it has helped a lot to my baby to fight with extreme cold weather. People from North, central and North-East India are using this method for years to keep muscle pain and cold away. This is time tested method.
You need only two ingredients for this massage oil which are easily available in the kitchen i. e. mustard oil and garlic cloves 🙂 You can easily store this oil for 6 months or so but better to prepare in small batch to keep garlic more effective.
I used to massage my baby with this oil three to four times a day and she used to love it. Mustard oil is very good for our health both internally and externally. I will share the amazing benefits of mustard oil in upcoming post and concentrate here only on massage oil. You can apply this oil on your feet before bed and you will get calm and peaceful sleep.
Let us start step by step-
Take the good quality mustard oil in a sauce pan or thick bottom pot. Keep it on the stove top and slightly warm it.
Take the garlic cloves, no need to peel them and put it in the oil. Let the oil come to boil on slow to medium flame. After some time the garlic will sputter. Be careful as sometimes it jumps out and can cause burn. Let the garlic leave all its juices in oil and turn dark brown.
Turn off the stove and let oil cools down to room temperature on its own. You will notice garlic settling down.
Strain and pour the oil in a bottle and your massage oil is ready to use. 🙂
