How to crochet easy Headband for baby, is a post with beginner level tutorial of easy headband. This is also a post from Cm-iH’s One Day Crochet Project series! In one of my previous posts we have seen how to crochet floral headband for baby. This post include step-by-step photos, instruction card (consists of chart diagram) and video tutorial.
I wanted to post this tutorial from long time but kept postponing. This headband is very good try for beginners, as it will help to boost your confidence in crochet. There is very little chance of going wrong with this headband. And you don’t need to know many stitches, only single crochet and double crochet stitches are enough to make this.
So let’s see,
How to crochet easy Headband for baby-
Detailed Step by step tutorial with photos-
3 dc row = 1″ or 2.5 cm
Finished Size :
Headband circumference – 52 cm
Note: It is always advisable to take baby’s head measurement for whom you are making the cap. If you are making it as a gift for someone or to sell on your store then grab this standard chart from our resource library.
Take almost 2″ of tail yarn and fold it, insert hook in headband and pull the yarn loop. Now draw yarn through that loop.
Make sc, working with both the yarns. Then make sc as many as fit on headband, move them closer so even when it is stretched we won’t see headband. Sl st in first sc.
Make ch 3, 1 dc each in next 4 sts. (5 sts)
Ch 3, 1 dc in first st, 2 dc each in next 4 sts. ( 10 sts)
From next row onward, make Ch 3, 1 dc each in between 2 dc of previous row.
Make ch 3, dc2tog in next 8 sts, 1 dc in last st. (5 sts)
Ch 3, 1 dc each in next 4 sts. (5 sts)
Now make your work straight flat, take other end of headband, insert hook in sc of headband and make Sl st, insert hook in next st of work and next sc on headband make Sl st. Similarly make Sl st in remaining 3 sts. This way our work will get connected to headband.
Cut the yarn and sew in the tail. Our super simple headband is ready to use.
